Notes from the Chair

Well, it’s finally here. The serious battle is now underway, with the conclusion of the 2 conventions and Labor Day on the horizon.

I don’t know about you, but I couldn’t watch the D convention—but I heard and read about it. It seems as though they can’t get enough of Zoom. I was glad to see that the Rs favored real live people to participate.

So, with the elections finally within sight, there’s a lot of work to do. And it’s not the work we have typically been engaged with, for all the obvious reasons.

What we’re going to have to focus on, in the next couple of months, are things that I know there will be resistance to, but things that MUST be done.

But first, we’ll start with our Lincoln Day Dinner. Yes, that’s right, we’re having one. It’s on Sept 14 at the Gypsum Creek Club – 5:30 VIP with candidates and 6:30 cocktails and dinner. The invitation will be out this week but mark your calendars as this is the ONLY fundraiser of the season. It will be held outside, weather permitting. If we’re inside, there’s lots of room to spread out and the tables, etc will meet whatever guidelines are in at that time.

Now back to the groundwork. Paul Court is the Trump/Gardner liaison in Eagle County. Paul is relatively new to our group but

has already had his hand in the air to help out. With Greg Bush, a member of our EC, they will be contacting you for help. Phone calls will be their focus. The RNC and Colorado GOP have a system in place that allows you to make calls that will not display your phone number or name, along with a script for your use which takes very little time per call. I know people in Denver who have made 100 calls on their way to work. Our local candidates will also be needing help. They will be arranging that separately.

OK. I can already hear the groans. But get over it. This election will ONLY be won if we have great voter turnout. That is what it will take. Because if Rs stay home, as they did in 2018, we will lose. That means the Ds will win.

That means we will be living in a country we will not recognize and won’t want to live in. It means your taxes will go up. It means your standard of living will go down. It means you will no longer have control of your health care. It means there will be no more school choice. It means that personal safety will suffer as law enforcement is subjugated to the will of radicals. It means that freedom of speech will be compromised. It means they will come for your guns. It means that we will be over-run with illegals. It means the illegals will have more free benefits than you do including free legal representation to fight the system. It means that every single action Trump has taken to make it easier for small businesses to function will be revoked.

I mean really- do I have to go on? I hope not. Let’s be real. Most of you are home anyway- at least you’re spending more time at home than before the China virus. So, suck it up and help out. OK, maybe you don‘t like making calls. Your future and truly the future of this country depends on how this election goes. MORE THAN EVER IN OUR HISTORY- THIS ELECTION WILL DEFINE OUR FUTURE.

The good news is that the polls are finally moving in our favor. Our candidates have a message that is getting traction. Endorsements- ie. National Association of Police, NYPD, etc- are flowing in. Gardner’s raising more money than Hick but we haven‘t seen the Soros/Bloomberg influence yet. The Trump and Gardner campaigns are working in lockstep with more people on the ground and more voter contacts ever in the history of Colorado.

But we need to do our part. I’ll repeat- again- my mantra- sorry for you who’ve heard it a 1000 times- here goes.

Everyone doesn’t have to do everything
but everyone MUST do something.

So let me leave you with this thought……………..

It’s election night.
The results are rolling in.
It becomes clear that Trump will lose.
Biden gives his acceptance speech.
And you did nothing to help.

The thought makes me physically ill.

If Paul doesn’t call you, call him: 312-952-0883

If Greg doesn’t call you, call him: 970-471-2395

If all else fails, call me: 970-376-5100

BTW, check out the new website. Steve Monroe has done a

FABULOUS job making it easy to navigate and filled with great information. Last but not least, there is a link to donate, either as a one-time donation or as a recurring monthly contribution.
