President Donald J Trump Accomplishments

What more do you want from the guy? That’s the question I have for all the Trump naysayers. And while he’s technically not on the ballot this election, he most certainly is on the ballot if you like what he’s accomplished and you’d like to see more.

In order to create a complete synopsis of what our President accomplished in his first 500 days (as of 6/4/18), I’d need to take out a whole section of the Wall Street Journal. So, what I’ll do instead is focus on some key wins. But,oh, where to start. I guess “it’s the economy stupid!”.

*Nearly 3mil jobs have been created including 304,000 manufacturing and 337,000 construction jobs.

*Unemployment rate has dropped to 3.8% and job openings are at 6.6mil-highest ever!

*67% of Americans think it’s a good time to find a quality job- best since Gallup started asking the Q 17 years ago.

*Lowest unemployment rate for women, blacks, Hispanics.

*Highest Consumer Confidence rate and record high optimism as reported by National Association of Manufacturers.

*Tax Cuts and Jobs Act law giving $3.2 trillion in gross tax cuts to 80% of American households and doubling the child tax credit.

*Reduction of top corporate tax rate from 35% to 21%.

*Record gains in the stock market.

*In May payrolls increased by 223,000 while state unemployment benefits dropped by 221,000 and 35% of small businesses reported

raising wages and employee compensation packages reaching a record high.

*Canada, just as I’m writing this, agreed to a new NAFTA trade agreement with Mexico and the US. It’s call USMCA-and they said it couldn’t be done!

But that only scratches the surface - if that’s not enough, there’s more.

*For every new regulatory action, 22 have been eliminated, beating his campaign goal of 2:1.

*Moved the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem fulfilling an old American promise.

*Ended the Iran deal.

*Withdrew US from Paris Climate Accord.

*Leads global campaign to peacefully denuclearize the Korean peninsula.

*Secured historic increases in defense spending.

*Signed the VA Choice and Quality Employment Act.

*Signed the Department of Veteran Affairs Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act.

*Signed an Executive Order to protect Free Speech and Religious Liberties, protecting the 1st Amendment.

*Launched a nationwide effort, authorizing an omnibus spending bill of almost $4bil to fight the opioid crisis.

And once again, I’ve only scratched the surface but maybe I’ve saved the best for last. He has confirmed more Circuit Court judges than any

President in their first year and- drum roll please- he secured the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh to the United States Supreme Court.

It’s exhausting just researching this….

The results are clear: the American economy is stronger, the stock market is booming, business has been revitalized, workers have more opportunities and are making more money, confidence is at an all-time high and America is once again a leader on the international stage. And as promised, he’s delivering on his campaign pledge “to make America great again.”

So, I’ll circle back to my beginning question: what more do you want from the guy?

The question asked by the Washington Post is this “For Mr. Trump’s conservative critics, including some well-meaning evangelicals who rightly express concern over character: Would you really prefer to have a “more presidential” chief executive who promotes socialism, open borders, abortion, sexual anarchy and the criminalization of Christianity?”

Now I’ll pose that same question to you. Surely you can’t prefer the polite ineptness of the previous occupant of the White House. Remember the guy with the nice manners whose only accomplishments were……………well what were they? Do negatives count as accomplishments? Is there such a thing as a negative accomplishment?  Because I really can’t remember anything positive

No, for me it’s simple. Sign me up to support someone who says what he’s going to do and then does it- at record breaking speed I might add.

Sure, I’d rather that he not tweet so much. I’d prefer he’d avoid name calling. Some days he’s like a bull in a china shop but I’d rather that than someone whose only stands are to apologize for the greatness of America.

And of course, he doesn’t know how to work the system methodically and politely. In fact, he doesn’t care if he’s methodical or polite. He’s never held an elected office before; he campaigned on a clear agenda; he’s been insanely intense delivering on his promises; he knows the clock is ticking and he’s hell bent on making a difference in the only elected position he’ll ever have.

There’s an old axiom about not sacrificing the good in pursuit of the perfect. Donald Trump is good enough for me.
