SOS Election Changes Petition

On June 17th, Sec State Jena Griswold issued a notice of “emergency rules”. This mandate announced that no third parties are allowed to audit Colorado’s elections. Not only is this unconstitutional, it’s a grotesque overreach of Government power. Elections belong to the people, not elected state officials, unelected bureaucrats, or vendors such as Dominion.

USEIP is asking for participation in our petition drive. This is not a “scream at the sky” effort. These petitions will lead to legal action. Please follow the directions below to fill out and submit the petition for yourself as soon as possible.

1: The press release cites no authority for the lockdown of voting equipment to which it relates. The SoS might have this authority or not, but the authority isn’t cited.

2. The SoS indicates there is an “emergency,” yet she discloses no facts indicating there is any emergency. The object is to prevent “third parties” from accessing voting equipment, but there is no indication in the release nor in the news generally that any “third party” has attempted to do so.

3. While the SoS has certain authority over the approval of voting equipment used statewide, the various county clerks have responsibility for the use and custody of the machines. So it’s very unclear the SoS has authority superior to that of the each and every clerk.

4. Most notable is the political tone of the press release. It doesn’t just announce a new rule claiming to restrict access to voting machines. Instead, it launches a diatribe about election audits such as the one going on in Arizona. It hurls claims about that audit that the Colorado SoS would not be in a position to know, as neither she nor her staff is involved. They have no direct knowledge of anything happening in Maricopa County, AZ.

Some are claiming that the hysterical nature of the SoS’ press release indicates she has things to hide that a proper forensic audit of the voting machines might reveal. Possibly. We do know that her office is squiring around the state teams from Dominion Voting Systems to “update” the software on the voting machines throughout the state. We know the county clerks, and indeed the SoS herself, have no idea what is in the voting machines’ software nor in any “updates.” No more idea than they have of what’s in the operating system on their smartphones. And we know that, functionally, the SoS and the clerks have ceded control over elections to the voting machine companies without the knowledge or ability to understand what the voting machines do or how they do it.

People around the state are contacting their county clerks to express disapproval of the SoS’ political conduct of her office. County clerks should be asked not to permit the SoS’ people or the Dominion people from touching the voting machines until the various election audits that might come in the future have been completed.
